Coming Saturday, 8th August 2020, we have a special session with a successful entrepreneur Mr. Kevin M Shah on topic – Insights into sustaining, scaling and exiting a rewarding business.
Kevin M. Shah took over his father’s small business and over the next 2 & half decades he took his company’s business to a point of such attraction, that unsolicited in 2017, the company was approached by a Swedish MNC, listed on NASDAQ – for a buyout!
He was thrust into early responsibility of heading the family company at the very tender age of 24, after completing his education as an Industrial Engineer at University of Houston.
That happened due the untimely demise of his father, at a time when the Indian Industry was struggling to find its feet. With no siblings to shoulder the responsibility, the managing director’s slot with no real experience was overwhelming.
The business was also not easy, that of manufacture of technically intensive equipment used in Chemical Process Industry namely Petroleum Refineries, Petrochemical Complexes, Fertilizer & Chemical Units, Power Plants, etc. A journey that began with just 5 empoyees & a handful workmen, he grew his business steadily, only to face a crisis & certain life changing events.
Getting some paradigm shift, he began some experimentations. Such experimentation did pay off, as it resulted into an internal alignment amongst employees & workmen that gave the desired result & messaging, eventually attracting the buyer of his business.
